For clubs I would recommend Gypsy Bar, Liquor Store, Mansion and other Bars in the Alley on Boylston St. They are all on Boylston near Tremont by the Boston Common (Boylston St. T stop on the Green Line).
For sports bars I would recommend Pour House, and Cask n' Flagon

Most of the nightclubs on Landsdowne are closed. Avalon, Axis, Embassy etc.. If you tell me what type of atmosphere & music you're looking for.. i can help you find a venue and make sure you get on a guestlist

depends how old you are... if you are closer to 21 Landsdowne St...mid 20s the Alley off tremont...
I'll add that when I moved to Boston for grad school at BC I thought the stadium was their practice field coming from a big 12 school it was a tiny stadium. High school football stadiums in the south are bigger.

I'm just saying with the population of metro Boston you don't get a lot of people that go or care that much about B.C. games. People around here prefer professional sports over college sports.

This is DEFINITELY true. As someone who went to a football school, I can't imagine what else I would do on a Saturday in the fall. In Boston, they just don't quite get it.

Well guess again because they're smarter in Boston and New England. A lot of people are watching college games on TV right at home or right in their local watering holes....

Not even close. Go to an SEC football game. Everything stops, stores are closed, it is on the radio or tv almost everywhere. You could walk across the busiest roads and not have to worry about cars when the game is on. Most people have no idea how BC is doing or paying attention. They only follow if they are doing very well and I watch college games in sports bars all the time and I find more people watching other stuff than college sports up in New England.
The tailgate itself is like nothing you can find up here. A Boston College tailgate is a joke compared to other Div 1 football schools. Even a Patriots tailgate doesn't come close to an SEC football tailgate or event. The closest and best tailgate I have seen up here is the country music fest at Gillette every summer. That is pretty crazy and a great time.

haha I'm loving Boston so far (been here since July) but the thing I miss most is college football. I go watch the games with the Alumni Association (Virginia Tech if you couldn't tell) and I've met a few people from other big football schools that love college football but by and large nobody cares about college football up here. If you do let me know and maybe we'll get together and watch the bowl games, haha.

And that's EXACTLY why I didn't go to UGA and high tailed it up to a New England school with no football team! :P Life does not begin and end with football!! I do miss marching band though... the Harvard marching band doesn't have the same umph as UGA's massive band.
Another good club is Mojitos in between Downtown Crossing and the Commons. I forget which street- maybe Winter? It's a Latin club and a guy I know is the manager and is one of the most radical left wing Iraq marine veterans I ever knew possible! A really cool guy though and they have 19+ nights on Thursdays which is nice for the underage/nondrinking crowd.

Although I will add when the Red Sox play it is a similar atmosphere to a southern college football game...without the tailgating, etc. But overall a red sox game is on everywhere and most people are paying attention to that and want to know the details of the game.
ME Hokie 07...sounds good. This past saturday was rough with no college football on. The NFL isn't the same. College games are more interesting to watch and enjoyable.

I thought that BC had a rep among it's student body for being hard-core football fanatics. I don't live anywhere near Boston and I hear that shtiz.
