Which Boston neighborhoods should you avoid if you don't want to live near college students? (Cambridge: renting)

I'm in my mid-thirties so ideally, I don't want to be surrounded by college students in their late teens and early twenties.

Avoid: parts of Cambridge (Harvard Sq, Davis Sq, Kendall Sq), parts of Brighton (anything on Comm Ave), all of Allston, Mission Hill

Safe: Brookline (especially the areas south of Beacon), Back Bay, Beacon Hill, West End, North End

Basically look where the big universities (Harvard, Tufts, MIT, BU, BC, Northeastern) are and don't live near them.

West Roxbury, Hyde Park, Readville and Lower Mills are some other generally safe options that are away from college students and have not been previously mentioned.

There are certainly college students on Beacon Hill, notably the grittier areas there. Same for North End. Or if no longer students, they're 23 or 24 yo. Same for Fenway.

Brookline certainly has some students, especially closer to BU and Comm. Ave. I even had an MIT frat on my Brookline street when renting a room years ago; the frat is still there years later, though quiet.

Try Roslindale, W. Roxbury, parts of Dorchester, city of Quincy, Arlington...

Most undergrads: Kenmore, Fenway, Symphony Hall, BackBay towards MassAve, Allston.

All green line trains in Brookline and Brighton constantly packed with undergrads, even "D" line. Brookline Village is probably best for post-college singles, if you can afford it.

Harvard Square and the areas around Tufts and MIT have students, but there are more grad students and professionals in the mix and fewer places to drink, so it is less rowdy than Allston/Brighton and the Fens.

Sadly, just about all neighborhoods are off limits to you - including ones farther out. There are far too many deadbeat "educational" institutions in this town for my taste, and they seem to be expanding exponentially! I'm particularly tired of the Northeastern parasite.
