What about one of those share-a-ride vans? In the future choose a later flight and take the train. That's what I do whenever possible. I can walk from my house to the commuter rail station, and the car stays at home in the garage.

I may have missed it, but is there any way to just fly out of Providence to avoid all this hassle since it sounds like its only for one trip?

I drove a rear wheel drive Chevy Impala for years in Upstate NY and never worried. Road are cleared here pretty quickly. You would only have to worry if there was a blizzard, which if there was it would not make any difference if you had 4WD.

Anyway it would be highly unusual to get a snowstorm that would compromise the roads you will be driving on before Christmas.

I drove my daughter to Green Airport from the burbs in a snowstorm and returned in a Jeep and never put it into 4 wheel drive.
