Default Haverhill to Boston commute

We are looking at homes in Salem and Haverhill. My husband works at Childrens downtown, would these be about an hour away? Has anyone done the Haverhill or Salem trip during work hours (5:30am and 5:00pm?) Thank you

Hi DEMaris
I did the Haverhill to BOS commute several years ago, it can be a 35 minute cruise or a 1 1/2 hour ride. Not sure if things are better now that much of the construction of the Big Dig is over. Unfortunately there is NO easy public transportation to Childrens (I have a child who needs to visit Children's more or less regularly). Are you talking Salem MA or Salem NH? I know Haverhill MA like the back of my hand, and Salem NH as well, and hopefully can answer any questions you may have about either. Salem MA, not so much...

I was born in Haverhill and my entire family lives in Haverhill and Salem, NH. Most of them take the commuter rail because it's just not worth driving- especially with Boston parking. I've done the Haverhill to Boston commute and personally thought it was nothing compared to the commute into Atlanta from my house, but it totally depends on your perception of what bad traffic is.
