I will be spending the next week in Cambridge on vacation and am looking for suggestions for things to do, see, eat and places to shop. I will have a car and am somewhat familiar with the area, although this is my longest stay in years. Taking public transportation is also fine. I love to sightsee and explore, shop in boutiques and thrift / antique stores, and am a bit of a foodie. Please also suggest any great gluten free dining options you are aware of, as I have celiac disease. My husband will be working most of the time, and I'm eager to see all I can and not waste time sitting in the hotel.

There is a possibility of a future move to the Boston area in the upcoming year, so I'd also welcome any suggestions on towns / cities to check out for living. We would be looking to rent for now and we'd ideally like to keep our budget around $2000 / month for at least a 2 bedroom. We have lived in NYC for years, and are currently in Fairfield County in CT (west side of Norwalk, but spend most of our time in Westport). I don't mind a long commute, although would prefer to keep it under an hour. We don't have children now, although expect to within the next couple of years.

Thank you in advance!

My boss is allergic to gluten. She likes Teatro in the Theater District.
