As the Big Dig gets closer to fruition (meaning the ceiling isn’t falling and the lanes are actually open), I think it would be great to give at least a nod to the rest of the country. I travel a lot for work and it is surprising how many people followed the progress and were well aware the project was nationally funded.
If the Mayor would take out an ad (a personal note from him) in all major city news papers to say “thank you” and we would love to have you come visit to see “your” hard earned dollars at work. I think it would be a boom for our tourism industry. It would be a good influence to would be travelers with a small investment. Thoughts? |

I think Boston should spend its advertising money on Europeans. They spend more money than domestic tourism and since the dollar is in record low territory it shouldn't be too hard to convince them that Boston is on sale.
