Hey!

I am a medical student at Tufts University in Boston, and I want to find a studio apartment in the city that won't cost me a kidney. I have not found much in the area, but thought all of you enlightened ones might be able to show me the way. Ideally, it would be a maximum 30 minute walk from the school or a very short commute to the school which is located in Chinatown on Harrison Ave. I don't need anything fancy, but I would definitely want a kitchen (even a galley kitchen will suffice).

Also, if you can think of websites, real estate agencies, or just have a batty aunt trying to rent out an abandoned building....let me know

Thanks!

No can do, the nearest neighborhoods to Tufts Medical are in South Boston. To walk to the closest part of South Boston you would have to walk through the worst part of the South End near the Pine Street Inn or detour around Summer Street for a longer walk. Then you would be renting in the scruffier part of Southie closer to the highway.

A better alternative would be to rent off the orange line on the Malden End for something affordable.

What is your budget? It will cost you at least 1,400ish to get a reasonable 1 br studio in Boston within a 5 mile radius from downtown Tufts

To stay closer your best bet is to find roommate(s).
