Default Only Apartments in Somerville???
Are there no single-family homes in the Somerville area? All I'm seeing on craigslist are the converted houses w/flats.

Which neighborhoods close to downtown Boston have single-family homes (with decent commute times - no more then half hour by bus or car)?

Medford, Arlington, Melrose, Winchester, Belmont, Watertown... Also Roslindale, West Roxbury, Newton. Lots of them. Even Somerville, although most there are probably multiple dwellings.

Somerville was at one time the densist populated city in the world.

Not many one family homes. Lots of triple deckers.

If you're looking to rent, then you won't find any single family homes in Somerville. If you're looking to buy, then there are plenty to choose from -- check out www.realtor.com
