Where are you from, out of curiosity? You seem to put a lot of store into HOV lanes and I'm wondering where they are that effective.

The tournament director is going to delay the start of the game so we should be ok. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again for the help.
There are no HOV lanes on 90 and 95. 95 was never completely built. If this route had been finished, then it would be a direct route to Walpole.

With checked bags, I usually give it 1/2 hour (ish) from the time the plane lands to the time I'm walking out the doors of the airport. So if wheels touch down at 5:45, he's out the door by 6:15. 45 minutes from Logan to Walpole is optimistic to say the least. 7:30 is a more realistic expected arrival time for Walpole and that's not definite even if the plane is on time.

Scheduled flight times are so padded that if his flight leaves close to on-time he may touch down 15-20 minutes ahead of his scheduled arrival time which would help get him to Walpole closer to 7. Of course, that's really optimistic and depends on so many things going right (early arrival, available gate, quick baggage claim process, average or better traffic and no accidents along the route, etc). If I were in his shoes and had to let someone know when I'd be there, I'd say "if my flight arrives as scheduled, expect me there by 7:30-7:45."

*edit* re: HOV lanes, there are a few HOV lanes in Boston beyond the "zipper" on 93. Most of them are fairly underutilized. There are HOV options on 93 north for the airport and South Station exits (left exit beyond the normal SS/Airport exit), there are HOV lanes on 93 South coming FROM Kneeland/ South Station (this one is great for avoiding jams in the afternoon). There's another HOV permanent HOV lane on 93 South north of Boston (Restricted to HOV only during AM rush). But none of these help the OP much (even the zipper lane is a minimal improvement) getting FROM Logan. The airport HOV may be helpful getting back to Logan. Our HOV lanes don't function like those in the Southeast or out West. You'll be disappointed if you expect them to.

Made it to Walpole with 10 minutes to spare, the HOV lane on 93 South did the trick. Thanks everyone.
