Default moving to boston

Sorry, another post about moving to Boston.

I will be starting a job in Brighton this coming summer and am trying to narrow down places to live. I am 29 year old single male who likes to go out (dinner and drinks) about 1 - 2 times a week.

I am hoping to buy a small condo, and given my budget I have found a few areas that seem to have units that are in my price range.

1) Medford
2) Sommerville
3) South Brookline / North JP (Washington st and Jamicaway)

I do have a car but I would love to be able to take public transport to work.

The questions I have about each of the neighborhoods are:

1) Are the neighborhoods safe, quiet and night, and convenient to shops?
2) What would you estimate commute times to be around 5:00 to 5:30am to Brighton?
3) What is street parking like in these areas?

Currently Medford is at the top of my list given its affordability and access to downtown on the Orange line.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
