My wife and I are staying in Boston for 6 days both in our 30s. Found a place to rent on 44 Concord Square bit worried about crime and safety there. Can anyone chime in on if that's a safe area? Would walk to the commons and breakfast near by. Thanks for any input or suggestions.

Very safe neighborhood..... Concord Sq is in an area known as the South End and is one of the most expensive/desirable areas to buy/rent in greater Boston. It is a beautiful old victorian square with a fountain ... a little oasis in the city. I lived in that area for years, when it was even less gentrified than now, and never had a problem. Of course, you are in a city and just be aware - would give same advice for anywhere in the city. That general area starts to go downhill/get sketchy if you cross over Mass Ave ....but you will have absolutely no reason to do so as everything you want to see or do will be in the other direction.

Less than 10 minute walk to backbay and less than 20 to the commons
Lots of options for breakfast in the neighborhood - look them up on yelp - the buttery, mikes diner, render and many, many more

Enjoy!
