Default Relocating to Medfield, MA Help

I am being asked to relocate from Rochester, NY to Medfield MA.

I will be visiting the area this weekend. Any help in regards to pros and cons of Medfield would be truly appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

Rochester vs Medfield
City vs a small town.
Population 220K vs 12K
density 6,132/sq mile vs 845/sq mile.
White 48% vs 96%
African American 38% vs 0.5%
Median household income $27K vs $97K
% of population below poverty line 26% vs 1.4%
Avg. single family tax bill for Medfield $6578

Medfield is a predominant white town. Upper Middle Class. Good School. Housing and cost of living is expensive compare to Rochester.. You'll love it here. Just bring lots... and lots... of money.

Good luck....

I pulled this up out of the archives and was wondering about the wording of the OP's post. Is your job being relocated to Medfield (though there is no business going into that town that I know of...). Or are you considering Medfield?

Smarty's post is right on about bringing lots and lots of money. Also bring your tolerance for the "new money" people flashing it around in your face. But you'll find that in Dover, Sherborn, Wellesley, Weston and a lot of other surrounding towns too. You'd have to go to Needham, Natick, Framingham, Franklin or some other similar towns to get away from that.

Default Medfield Train

Does anyone know how often the train rumbles through town and at what times? Considering a move to Medfield near the center and have been warned about the noise from the train.
