I wonder if that's even what happened half the time. Or is it just an excuse the T comes up with

Was the crash that closed I-93 in Canton the same day another example of the reliability of driving?

I know this is going to come as a shock to you, but there ARE other roads that can be used to get from point A to point B.

And those roads will take a lot longer, especially when thousands of other cars are forced onto them. Unless you're one of the hundreds of people stuck between the crash and the previous exit, in which case you don't have much of a choice.

Oh, I had an out of service red line train go through Davis station toward Alewife on Saturday. It was 3 minutes until the next train. I guess I had a 3 minute delay!

I work in Kendall and for about seven years took the Red Line to South Station to catch my commuter rail home. Not anymore. I realized that it actually takes me less time to walk from Kendall to Ruggles than it does to take the Red Line to South Station and then have the train go to Ruggles. I can leave 10 minutes later and now have more confidence that I won't miss the commuter rail.

Added bonus: I get a lot more exercise.

Possible downside: I get a lot wetter when it rains.

I work near Harvard so not really an option for me every day. I have walked to South Station when the Red Line is completely down the toilet and it takes me about an hour.

Now this morning my commuter rail train died between Hyde Park and Ruggles. The one day I need to be on early. They're trying to fix it but don't know if they can.

Is this a delay or a "delay"?

An hour later another train pushed us to South Station. I'm counting this one as a delay.

Its a delay, but again, you don't seem to get this, you're talking about the commuter rail, not the T.
If you want to live off the T and out a bit, it's what you deal with. If you moved to where you could take the T, it wouldnt be an issue, or much less a one.
