Question UK Student Nurse req info

Hi all

I'm new to this site and I am hoping someone may be able to give me some much needed info. I am currently a 2ndyr Student Nurse currently residing in the UK. My dream is to live and work in Boston but I have no idea how to go about this. I realise I will be short on the required hours in Paeds/Mental Health and Obstetrics and I am looking into how to resolve this. Although my question is aimed mainly at UK nurses that may have immigrated here before please feel free to answer if anyone has any ideas.

I have never been to Boston and I thought the easiest way to do this was to study in Boston to acheive the hours I am short on, this way I get a feel for the community etc. However I have no idea if I can do this on a Student Visa then stay in the US while I apply for my NCLEX etc. I have heard that to obtain my hours only req 3-4months of study, does anyone know if this is correct?

I have been looking into housing etc and I really do love the look of this area, so can anyone recommend suburbs that may be good for me. I am 26 and getting married to a 31 year old next year in Florida I have lived in Sydney before for many years and loved it and I hear that it is very americanised. If anyone has any info I would be very grateful. Just though I'd get the feelers out just now.

Thanks
