Default Affordable?

Is Boston affordable for students? What areas would be the best to live in for cleanliness, friendliness, cost of living, etc.?

Boston is very expensive compared to Newfoundland, neonfire. People aren't really what you'd call friendly, more like aloof and cold on the surface, but friendly inside.

Students who want to live cheap get a big apartment with a bunch of other kids and split the rent. The area would depend on what school you're going to.

There are a lot of great college areas in Boston. It depends on where you go to college though. If you go to Northeastern, I would recommend Mission Hill or Jamaica Plain. If you go to BC, BU, or Harvard, I would highly recommend Brighton (perferable around Comm Ave). For affordability, Brighton is your best choice. You can rent a nice 2 bedroom for about $1500 utilities included (parking may be a reach though..)
