I am a work from home employee, but I have to travel to Boston for client meetings a few times a month. I am currently based out in Shrewsbury (next to Worcester). I am hoping to move a bit closer to Boston, but be near a MBTA Commuter rail line to commute in.

I am not originally from MA, so unsure what areas I should look for to rent. I am hoping to find a 1 bedroom apartment with parking for about $1200 in the upcoming months. I am currently on a month to month lease. So can anyone suggest towns that I should look into that would typically have apartments that would fit my criteria?

Agreed with the above poster. Check the blue line area and maybe even Malden and Somerville near Sullivan.

Maybe Maynard--it has some rentals and is close to the South Acton station of the Fitchburg commuter line into North Station. There may be a bus from town to the RR station. Maynard is well out of Boston but closer than Shrewsbury.

For sure, there are apts in the West Natick Commuter Rail area at that price. Natick village is 1 of the complexes. The whole area has multiple complexes and some are condos rented out by owners. Very safe and quiet suburb environment.

Can Quincy still be added to the list at this price? Probably not North Quincy or Quincy Adams these days, but perhaps Wollaston?

You may be able to find something in Waltham. That might be tough though.
