Rt. 93 to North Station directions?
Hi,
I am relocating from Maryland in the next few months and will need to commute to Boston once a week. I'm coming down 93 South and headed more or less to North Station. How would you go if it were you? I'd probably be in/near city limits at 6:30-7am. When I go home I'd leave between 2-4pm.
Many thanks for any suggestions! Jackie

Coming in from where? Unless you have parking set up in the city, I'd leave the car at Wellington or at a commuter rail station like Anderson-Woburn. You can take 93 South to Exit 31, follow signs for Route 16 East, Mystic Valley Parkway toward Revere, and it's a bit over a mile to Wellington Station. You can park there easily at that hour for $3.50 a day, and it's under 10 minutes on the Orange line to North Station.
To drive all the way, you'd take 93 South to Exit 26 (Storrow Drive) and take that bridge (right next to the normal Zakim Bridge for 93). When you pass North Station/Garden, at the first fork on the ramp, you bear right onto Nashua St instead of Storrow Drive, then turn right onto Nashua St. Follow the loop to the end, turn left on Lomansey Way, then left on Causeway St. It's a little confusing there and parking there is tougher than at Wellington.

Thanks for your reply! I'd be coming from New Hampshire. I will have free parking in my building. Do you know if you can park overnight at the T or commuter rail stations you mentioned? I'm also toying with driving to a hotel near a T stop, as I will need to stay overnight.
Thanks so much! Jackie

I don't believe you can park overnight at many T stations, but I'm almost certain you can at Anderson Woburn and at Wellington in a garage called the Mystic. I'm not sure how much it costs.
I don't know offhand of hotels near the stations but I think there are some at Anderson Woburn. If you have parking in the building in Boston you might want to look into the Shawmut Inn. I know people who have stayed there and have had good experiences. The prices are quite reasonable for Boston. It's down a side street 1/4 block from North Station. They don't have any parking there that I know of, though. You could park at Woburn or Wellington overnight and stay in the city.
