Hi, Family friendly neighborhood in the Boston area.

Plain and simple:

Range 500-700k, decent public schools (6+)
within 35 min. of Cambridge, driving and/or public transportation
Any tips on new construction areas with these details?

I have been steered towards west, Natick and the W-neighborhoods, but looking at other areas: Acton, Burlington, etc. Any ideas or advice?
TIA

Where in Cambridge will you be commuting to? That will make a difference.

You're looking too far out if 45 is the max. You're going to need to be closer in, and give up new construction.

It took me 30 minutes to get from Belmont to Harvard Square during rush hour often enough, when I had to drive.

700k is doable in Arlington, but it would likely need work or be under 1500 sqft.

You could look into Watertown or Medford. New construction would be hard to find anywhere within 35 mins of Cambridge. Acton or Natick would be an over 45 min commute during rush hour. Burlington would be about 45 mins, though it may take a little bit longer some days.

Btw, Cambridge schools are probably better than you think. https://www.niche.com/k12/rankings/p...massachusetts/
