Default Working in Framingham

My wife and I are both from a small town in Utah. I've accepted a job in Framingham. My wife stays home with our son, so we really would like to rent an apartment in a community/neighborhood that's quiet and safe with reasonable rent while not being too far from Framingham. Any suggestions?

It would be good if you can be more specific about what is "reasonable" and "not too far".

There are plenty of apartments in Framingham, Marlboro and Worcester.
