I've been to the whalburgers in Lynnfield and I thought it was pretty good. Nothing special but solid.

BRED gormet is a good option in Dorchester.

My absolute favorite in the state is Sauce in Andover (outside of Boston I know).

So, where can I get a burger that's got chuck, brisket, and short-rib which isn't from a steakhouse (I don't want to spend $20). I just moved here from Brooklyn, and what I'm describing is common from our old local butcher (Paisano's) or like a Pat LaFrieda burger.
So far, I'm finding Boston pub food to be decent, but I haven't really searched for an awesome burger because I never [i]think[/I ]they will be very good.

I haven't had nearly enough burgers to claim that this is the best...but I wanted to give a shout out to the burger at Row 34...which is really good for a place that mainly does seafood.

I'm going to revive this just to say that I was at The Gallows last night. The burger was superb. And the staff was playing a pretty neat-o soundtrack at the bar.

It's fine to revive an old thread about food/restaurants because places go out of business and new one's pop up. I've found good burgers here and there but nothing I would call superb. It's that crusty on the outside and moist (rare to medium rare) on the inside that is I guess not easy for places to achieve. Perhaps it has something to do with food safety?

Maybe I'll try The Gallows but I can't stand going out to places and being disappointed. I see they have a kids menu so that's a plus for me as I can bring the boy.

Kirkland Tap and Trotter and Highland Kitchen

I actually prefer Bartleys to O'Sullivans, and it pains me to say that being the Somerville cheerleader that I am but the truth is the truth. O'Sullivans is just way too inconsistent and they often over-cook.

Yeah, I got over O'Sullivans pretty quickly.

Also, thought the burger at Drink was really overrated.
