My parents are in town for the weekend. I've never had a car in Boston, so I'm not sure what to suggest to them. Sunday looks like it won't be a problem, but what about Saturday? I don't have off-street parking or a parking decal. We didn't apply soon enough for the 3-day pass for Somerville.

It looks like there's parking on Mass by coin and a municipal lot on Day St.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

You got it covered, unless you have a 2 day visitor pass. There are at least three lots though in Davis, 2 are hourly, not sure on the third. Or, put it at alewife.

There is plenty of parking in the vicinity. 2 hour limits though, both metered and not. If they will be staying with you it might make more sense to have them park at alewife for the weekend at $7/day.

When school is not in session, I think that you can park in front of Somerville High School (on Highland Avenue) for free. The parking spots are opposite Putnam Street. The 88 and 90 buses run down Highland Avenue to Davis.

You could park at Alewife Station and ride the red line in one stop, as well.

That's on the orange line. Not convient to Davis (red line).
