I'm looking at a studio on central street in Somerville. Generally speaking, how safe is that area in terms of a city?

Perfectly fine. The entire city is fine. But Central St goes through several neighborhoods, its a long street.

Safe. Quiet, for the most part. The very popular Highland Kitchen is at the almost dead center of Central Street, at the corner of Highland.

I mean, my other option was getting roommates. I'm 30, but I'm trying to get into a new area of MA for a change of scenery and possible career change. I'm a carpenter right now, but there's no way I could afford having my truck down there. My biggest concern is finding some immediate employment doing whatever without having a vehicle. I've never lived without a vehicle, so I'm trying to wrap my head around the concept. Somerville seems like a good choice, I fee like I'm too old for Allston and such

Why do you want another option if this one works for you?

I mean -- the reply on the email seemed spammy, ya know the saying....if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Well its simple enough to go see it unless you're not in the area. But any good deal in Somerville gets rented 24-48 hrs of posting.

Yeah I'm in western MA -- it wouldn't be hard to get down there, I'm assuming getting by without a vehicle down towards Boston is easy though, right?

Its very easy in Somerville. But seriously, if its a decent deal and you aren't the first or second person to view it, you're unlikely to get it.

I lived without a car in Somerville. You just need to get used to the bus routes (much easier than it was in the pre-smartphone era and used to walking more.
