Well it was the 80's - modern hip hop hadn't been invented yet. But it had the rowdiness the OP is looking for.

The Faneiul Hall/ Quincy Market area (Fanueil Hall is one building in the Quincy Market Area) suggestion is a good one. There's plenty there. Aside from what's right there, cross the street over to the Union Street/Blackstone Block area for more options. Nearby, you can get drinks on the waterfront at the Landing, Tias, and Sail Loft which have big early 20-something crowds. Same for Whiskey Priest on the South Boston waterfront. Also google party boats for the days your here. Many of them have +/- $25 tickets, young crowds, and options for entertainment (i.e. hip hop/top 40 on the fist floor, live band on the 2nd, and outdoor bar/games on the top). Great for meeting people.

I'd recommend Coogan's and Beacon Hill Pub for cheap beers and a dive bar feel (you'll get dancing later at night, though it's not pretty). BHP has some games in the back (the punching machine, big game hunter, basketball, etc.) and often rowdy crowds on Friday/Saturday. I believe Coogan's still has some $1 drafts and BHP definitely still sells $3 Narragansett tallboys and cheap light beers (it's cash only though). A perk for BHP is that you can order pizza from somewhere else and have it delivered there. The Tam on Tremont is another dive where you can bring your own food if you want. It gets rowdy, but the crowd is sometimes a little older.

Did you click on any of the links from google?

Just go to Sissy K's, Hong Kong, and Wild Rover, all next to each other. Boom, done. You'll be double fisting bud lights to Drake and stumbling over semi-conscious scantily clad co-eds by midnight. I'm guessing this is more what you're into?
