What do you enjoy doing when you have an entire day to yourself in Boston or the area?

If I had a free day to myself right now, I'd do a round of golf, followed by some wings and burger at a good restaurant with a few drinks.

Stroll through Faneuil Hall and people watch. Take a long and leisurely walk through the Common, sit on a park bench under a great willow tree and feed the pigeons.

Had a totally free day to myself last Saturday. Went to the Harvard fogg art museum and Peabody museum of natural history. Browsed the coop, read a book for an hour or so at tatte. Walked down to Kendall square and had food and some beers at Cambridge brewing company and the meadhall. Walked along the esplanade a bit before taking the bus back to brighton. Nothing too awesome but it was pleasant and relaxing.

Head north, or to the Blue Hills, or Oxbow Nat Wildlife Refuge

Rev up ye old ibooke and sip three lattes in a prolonged ogling session watching tons of execrated videos in a Starbucks storefront window. Scarcely glancing up from my screen. Sad day for Hugh Mannatee. Coffee is meant to prolong life, but there must be a limit.

If I had a day alone, I would go to Mike's Pastry and get some delicious food without anyone bitching about how I'm spending too much money on pastry.

Well, I wouldn't spend the entire day there. It would just be a stop.
