South Station: Close to the waterfront, Aqarium, Fanuel Hall, North End, Downtown, Financial District
Back Bay: Closer to the Boston Common, Newbury Street, Fenway (ish)
Dedham: Is a town just outside of boston on the Hyde Park and West Roxbury side. This will probably be you cheapest option for Air BB, but this is not convenient to the heart of boston. It would take a bus to Forest Hills, then a train 6 stops just to get to back bay

If you're open to a traditional hotel/motel, there are a few in Dedham that are in walking distance to the Dedham Corporate station. The Patriot Train stops there on the way to Foxborough and you can take the regular commuter rail into Boston. The train is fast (20-30 min to Boston) but not very frequent, so it would fix your schedule.

the area around BC is beautiful but, as an Eagle, I'm partial. Why not stay on the other side (ish) of Foxboro and stay in Providence and go to the game from the south? Cheaper and you have plenty of good restaurants.

Anywhere in Dowtown, Back Bay, Seaport, and the South End would work for the OP. It would be fairly easy to get to the game train.
