In Charlottesville those Nazis came with weapons looking for a fight. One murdered a woman. Another screamed the N word and took multiple shots at a man.

Took the law enforcement long enough!

Give me a break on the "just want to speak" crap. That isn't remotely true, they were told to come armed and to look for a fight.

I'm glad there are people fighting back against Nazis and fascists. It's disgusting how such hate has become so acceptable in our society. Apparently, that is what "conservative" is now. It used to be people like Teddy Roosevelt (who was denounced as too conservative at the time).

This forum is fine. It's entertainment. But there are people with legitimate reasons for voting the way they did. Small business owners who were getting screwed for years because they couldn't afford paying healthcare. etc. Theresa reason these people are in office. people need to listen to what is happening . There is no good and bad guy. There are business owners that posted on their websites to fight the resistance and no republicans allowed and things of that nature. It's absurd. Not everyone who doesn't feel comfortable with their changing sexes is a raging homophobe. Not everyone who looks at the section 8 system in destain is a racist. Not everyone who can run a small business and feed families is a wealthy 1 per center. There are real people on both sides. When you demonize people this is what happens.

No one has ever told another person they should have a sex change, so that's no worry. And transphobic and homophobic are not synonyms.

Voting for Trump isn't going to help small businesses. He made his living (after daddy giving him a fortune) by scr*wing small businesses.

And while I don't think Trump supports are all racists, etc. They didn't count his xenophobia, racisms, sexism and misogyny as dealbreakers. There is not excuse for that. None. (Other than pure ignorance, maybe).

HRC was a horrible campaigner, and she took the election for granted. I have loads of problems with her, she's just another pro big business centrist Dem. But she was 1000% qualified; senator, secretary of state, time in the governor's mansion and white house being involved with policy. She might have been the most qualified, objectively, candidate ever.

And yes, the health care issue is real. The number one thing that could help American businesses would be a single payer health care system. We spend more than anyone, for far worse results and less coverage. If our corporations, both large and small, didn't have to pay for the administration of healthcare they would instantly become far more competitive globally with companies in single payer (or similar) system countries. It would also be an incredible boon to entrepreneurism; so very very many people are hesitant to leave a job and start a new company because it means they lose their health care. Stop that insanity.

It won't happen because our country is too far deep in the pockets of for profit insurance companies, and that's both sides of the aisle. We have a far right party, and a centrist right, and then a handful of people on the left. It's ridiculous. As a result, we see a country in decline.

This conversation isn't about Charlottesville, it's about Boston. But now that you bring that into the discussion, we of course all know that there was hate and violence coming from both the liberals and conservatives down there (as there were many from both sides with good intentions as well). I'm not saying the murderer wouldn't have done what he would have done anyway, but the hostility brought on by both sides there created a lawless environment that tends to enable and encourage acts such as that.

But back to Boston, all of the animalistic acts and violence came from the left. That is not an effective way of defeating whatever message their opponents supposedly had that was so offensive. All they brought was disdain for themselves from civilized members of both the right, left and in between.

No one I know or work with has disdain for the people there protesting and fighting back against hate.

Maybe you want to bow down to hate groups. I don't.

No matter how you try to rationalize it. Hating Nazis and facists is not on the same moral plane as hating people of color, or gay people, or immigrants. Nor is physically fighting them. It is not. Never has been. Never will be.

If you believe it is the same, then you're not "moderate" or "reasoned" or "civilized", you're just part of the problem.

HRC is a crook and a liar, not two qualities one should seek in a leader.

In addition (and not to hold her hostage to her husband's record, but it will dog her for the rest of her career), but Bill Clinton was behind many of the policies that continue to ravage our nation's working and middle class today. If you really don't understand why she lost, than it is you who is ignorant and utterly clueless.

Liar? Probably. Crook? Who knows. No reason to believe she is. But politicians are suspect, of course.

We KNOW Trump lied non stop. We know he is a crook. Been convicted of it.

She lost because she doesn't have much charisma, and took the election for granted. She received far more votes, but our system makes rural voters votes to be 2-4x more impactful than urban voters.

And everyone I know would love to go back to the Clinton economy. He compromised too much with the Republican party, which did get some bad results, but without compromise nothing gets done. At least things got done with him.
