If you don't have a mortgage or a safe deposit box you can do 95% of your banking online.

Actually I have 3 mortgages and I deal with them entirely online. It's making cash or check deposits where a local bank becomes a necessity. Even with mobile deposit, not all checks can be processed (especially hand written ones).

Yes I do most online banking, pay bills online as well. What's the 411 on Marlborough, I see some apartments in that area that I like.

Marlborough is not near West Roxbury.

What sort of environment do you want? Something urban and walkable, or suburban?

I think a common mistake people from some other areas of the country do is look only up suburban-style apartment complexes, and those don't really represent the housing situation in the city and its more immediate areas.

I've lived in both environments and can tolerate both. The only difference here is the apartments here or much more expensive and smaller. On top of that some charging for parking as well and I'm not paying 1500 a month plus paying for a parking space. So if I have to commute to West Roxbury that's ok, my vehicle is paid for so that's an expense I don't have anymore. Would I love to live in the city? Yes, but most important for me is to be happy where I'm living and I like what I see further away from the city. But I remain flexible and open to areas close to the city as well if I like them. I appreciate all the comments,
