Boston is so transient today, I do not know why any of this is even relevant. The average person you walk by on the street, most likely a transplant from elsewhere. If the city is so racist, I guess blame where all these people come from for that. I think I'm among those who just couldn't care less what the rest of the world thinks of us. There is absolutely no objective data suggesting we are any worse than any other city, other than "well I heard Boston is..., and it must be true because of bussing riots 40 years ago..." People's opinions don't bother me, nor does the city seem to be suffering for it.

I googled "most segregated cities in America" and Boston was not a city that made anyone's list. For example: https://www.google.com/amp/247wallst...ed-cities/amp/

Well, you have to give yourself enough time to read through it. The linked article at number 7 mentions Boston/Cambridge/Newton as most segregated.

No I didn't mean dont go into trades or go to college...i meant atop doing things like being dependent on section 8 and welfare, having kids when you're too young or not married, dealing drugs, doing drugs, getting in a gang, expecting someone else to pay your way and blaming your life on someone else. Those sorts of things.

The only times I have ever heard that phrase used it definitely referred to type of schooling and choice of career, and it put down non-white-collar workers.

A real Bostonian response to this topic would be - who cares what people in other cities think about Boston. Their opinions don't matter.

Reminds me of the Irish whites living in Old Colony, McCormack, and D Street projects in Souuuuthie
