Default Mid 20s Looking For Summer Job/Apt in Boston

I'm in my mid 20s and really want to go back to Boston before I head off to grad school.
I'm looking for both a temp office summer job AND a sublet apt.

I wanted to know

1) How good are my chances at getting a job?

2) What agencies could you recommend I use?

3) How difficult will it be to find a place for my needs which are
-Early May through July.....I can go as late as 1-2 weeks in August
-Studio/1 bed
-Furnished

4) Are there any other places besides Craigslist that could help me?

5) How should I manage.....should I get the job first then place...or place then job?
I'm currently looking for both...I didn't know if I find a job or place first if I should take.

Thanks!

don't think anyone could accurately answer this question w/o knowing what your qualifications/experiences are. regardless of what they are, you will be competing against any college students that will be hanging around in Boston this summer (esp. any interns that are willing to work for free/credits only)

3) How difficult will it be to find a place for my needs which are

we need to know your budget for this, in what neighborhoods you're looking in, and what amenities you're looking for. a 1bed can cost on average about $1k; a nicely furnished 1bed will be much more

4) Are there any other places besides Craigslist that could help me?

to help with? jobs? will there's a bunch of job site like Monster. you could also check the Boston Globe/Herald online. if you know which school you're going to, check their site for jobs. to help w/ apartments, CL/the Globe/Herald will be your best options, but those options are limiting if you won't be able to come up here and scout the apartments yourself

5) How should I manage.....should I get the job first then place...or place then job?

again, this depends on so many factors. if you have the qualifications and experience, it probably won't take you long to find a job, and once you know where the job is located, your apartment search can be narrowed down. but if it's going to take you a while to get a job due to lack of quals/exp, then best to look for an apartment first and hope any job you get won't be too far away from work.

Thanks!

I'll just chime in...

Yes. do get a job first... If you cannot get a job line up by May 1st, your chance of getting a job for 2 months is slim... you may want to talk to a temp agency also...

Sublet apartments are usually fairly easy to find especially if you're sure you have a job. There are plenty of sublets in late April/early May.
