Default Question about my move

Hi everyone... I am moving to the Boston area in the next few months. I am currently still deciding on offers, either in Hopington (leaning towards this one) or Woburn. My boyfriend will have a job in Framingham. My question is, of course, where should we live?!
I really really wanted to take the train to and from work and really wanted to work in boston, but the jobs just were not there. I have a lot of friends in boston so I dont want to be that far from the city. So where is my happy medium, where I am not far from boston, but dont have a disastrous commute if i work in hopington. I like a town with a square or a "main street" that is in walking distance. somewhat quaint and old town feel, but affordable so not too uptight.
any suggestions would be great. thanks!

Do you mean Hopkinton? The commute is better going out on the Mass. Pike than coming in, which helps. If you don't want to be too far from the city, you could think about something like West Newton, which is right by the Pike and has a main drag with a movie theatre, restaurants, bars. You could even look in Brighton Center and get the Pike at Exit 17. That would be something like a 45 minute drive, give or take. If you don't want to go that far, a good choice might be Natick though I find it a bit far from the city for much nighttime socializing.

Some definition of far would be helpful.

I assume you want to share an apartment with your boyfriend.

Framingham/Natick could be an option if you guys are working in Framingham and Hopkinton. There are plenty of backroads to work. Going into Boston is about 40 minutes.

If you work in Woburn, Waltham is an option. Then both will have about 30 minutes commute to work. 25 minutes to Boston. Waltham also has bus to Cambridge and commuter rail to Boston.
