Primera Air is going under (not terribly shocking) so their existing service to London Stanstead and Paris Charles de Gaulle is going away. Their planned service to Madrid, Brussels, Berlin and Frankfurt are not going to happen.

Delta confirmed their seasonal daily flights to Lisbon. Flights start May 23, 2019 and run through September 4, 2019. Boeing 757-200 aircraft.

Delta now operates a pretty decent network to Europe - London Heathrow, year round daily, Paris Charles de Gaulle, year round daily, Amsterdam, year round double daily, Dublin seasonal 5 weekly and now Lisbon seasonal daily.

The Heathrow Express is a great service, but it's very expensive when compared to MBTA blue line or silver line service to the center of the city.

Jetblue is adding non-stop flights between Boston and Rochester, NY. Flights begin January 8, 2019 and will operate once a day. This is the third upstate New York flight for Jetblue as it joins Buffalo and Syracuse. Jetblue will also be cutting flights to Washington Dulles as they're going to be closing that station come January 2019.

It's a 6 hour drive. There's no compelling reason to fly there.

For Rochester folks flying to Europe it’s a good flight to have.

Other than saving about 3 hours each way depending on where you live.

Or if you are flying for business, can't imagine people going there for any other purpose.

I mean I fly SYR-BOS frequently and thats only a 5 hour drive. Tickets are like $125 roundtrip and its much more convenient when visiting Boston. And when you factor in parking, time saved flying and everything in between... it might be cheaper.

On the flip side, someone living in the Boston suburbs would have to pay a huge premium given the extortion rates for parking at the airport. By the time you factor in the time needed to get to the airport, clear security board etc you may as well drive.
