Hi,

Does anyone know about the commute from Cambridge to Southborough, Exit 12 off of the Mass Turnpike? My boyfriend has recently accepted a fellowship at Harvard, so we would be living in the Cambridge area. However, the job I would like is located approximately 19 miles away. I am unfamiliar with the area and the traffic pattern, so I don't know if this commute is an option for me. I figure I would be going away from traffic, right?

Thanks for your help!

Cambridge is downtown while Southborough is out of town, 25 miles west. Pick a town somewhere in between, they are all nice. Driving on 128 is hell though.

I agree that commuting on Rt 128 is awful but to get to/from Southboro & Cambridge you'd take the Mass Pike (Interstate 90) from most places that are in between (Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, etc).

Umm... Why not stay in Cambridge and just use Rt90? I do not understand the logic about finding something in between. If you can find housing in Cambridge, the commute is fairly easy...Just have to pay tolls... Get on Rt90 at Brighton or Watertown and get off at Rt9/Framingham... then take Rt9 to Southboro.
