I am going to be commuting from Framingham to Longwood, using the commuter rail. I am not concerned about the ride in at rush hour - I figure a lot of people will be around. I was just wondering how safe it is to walk from Longwood up Brookline Ave to Yawkey at night, and if the station area itself is safe (around 8pm - thinking of dark winter nights).
Thanks for any input! |

100%. There's nothing but security police from all the universities and institutions all over Brookline Ave, not to mention plenty of Longwoodians and students walking all about and going home just like you. I did that walk 1000 times at 11pm. Not even an unkind word ever once.

There is also a fenway shuttle that runs all day from yawkee station to the LMA. Here is the website, it has a shuttle map also. It is really nice for cold winter nights.
MASCO - Parking and Transportation Services It is a nice walk during the spring, summer and fall too. |
