What exactly would make Doyle's fall into the category of a dive bar? Because it's old?
I'm not sure we have the same definitions of "dive Bar" that would have been the Drinking Fountain or the cottage in Hyde park

Some people consider it a dive because the food quality is mediocre and it old and somewhat dark. Relative to whatís out there itís kind of a dive-mostly because there arenít many dives left.

One of the things I like about western mass is there's more for independent restaurants. Higher labor costs, higher property values and a urge to put condos everywhere or student housing adds up. Businesses also come together to help each other like with the student prince years ago.
