Pretty sad news. I have loved a lot of their classes in the past. I was just looking on the site to purchase classes for someone for Christmas as well as enroll in the Excel Macros class.

I would imagine they are sitting on a hefty chunk of real estate.
Where is everyone currently going for classes, continuing ed, and networking these days.

Online education is big these days. It means people don’t have to physically get somewhere.

I remember taking a course on cheese through the BCAE. Was taught by the owner of formaggio. I know edx has a wine tasting course but there’s no way online could be as good as in person course as far as that goes.

They really haven't posted a statement. I would imagine it would be online.

That's a shame. I wonder if their enrollment changed significantly. Transitioning online would maintain the resource, but so much of the BCAE was a social component. Digital isolation is real.

Here's a link to General FAQs and it looks like a statement to me.

I wonder why there was such a decrease in enrollment. My guess is people are busy and if you’re working it’s not that easy to just hop on a train and get somewhere quick. I’m really curious on the reasons as to why enrollment went down especially with Boston’s overall population increasing. Hmm.
