Default Relocating to Boston from Brazil

Hi everyone,
My wife and I are moving to Boston from Brazil in a couple of months and we would love to hear from you all about what to expect of the day-to-day life in the city, since we've never lived abroad before. I will be at MIT, attending an MBA. Here are some topics we need help with: Thanks so much!

 Domestic Help - where to find/rates

 Babysitting - where to find/rates

 School system - best area/public or private?

 Sports/ Fitness -

 Shopping -

 Gastronomy - what's there and what's not

 Entertainment

 Entertaining at home - casual, formal? How much in advance should we invite? What time is dinner (in Brazil it's very late!)?

 Hospitals/doctors, dentists -

 Driving/Public transportation - will we need a car? Is it easy to move round town? Are Tampan good drivers?

 Safety

 Trips around the area

 Favorite things/suggestions

best,
Alberto

East Cambridge is a very good place for Brazilians. There are a lot of restaurants in that area and MIT is there too.
As for the other things. It's probably best that you find those things when you get here. There is a very large support network for brazilians already in place here where all your questions will be answered.
Don't worry it is safe and I think that you will enjoy it very much.

Brazilians are the largest immigrant group in Massachusetts now. I'm sure you'll find many people in the same situation.
