sadly, the sucky Section 8 tenants give a bad name to the good ones

Yes, I agree with you. Some section-8 tenants want nothing more than to lead good honest peaceful, productive lives just like other "humans."
If you are a landlord, who happens to land on this forum , and are reading this, my hope in your humanity is that you will take the time to listen to your prospective section - 8 tenant and hear their story. Maybe they fell on hard times, maybe they are disabled etc. Maybe they are saints. If you choose to make individual judgements and You might end up with a jewel of a tenant and be assured of your monthly rent. Who knows, you may even begin to love this section-8 voucher holder.
If you are a section -8 tenant reading this, I implore you to behave in a fashion that is respectful and honorable towards your landlord. Its a priivelege to have received this type of rental security. Because, if you lose your job, or your income falls, or your job is taken offshore, or you cannot work etc. HUD will cover your rent. Don't leach off HUD. When you are able to work and sustain an income, pay your rent as agreed.
Love, health, honor and compassion.
