Default Eastie Noise Level?

I have to move out of the Fenway apartment where I've been for almost 25 years. I'm thinking about Eastie. How's the noise level over there? Is it just hype that Jeffries Point and Eagle Hill are pretty much free of airport noise?

I'm used to a neighborhood with lots of cafes, student type restaurants, and very good T and Bus access. Am I likely to find that in a quiet area of Eastie?

Thanks

I'm not greatly familiar with Eastie, so take what I say with many grains of salt. The only reason I'm throwing in my two cents is that no one has answered, and I do know at least a little info. What I know is that usually both the takeoff and landing patterns take the planes over the water. Because of this, I can believe that there might not usually be a noise problem in Eastie, but again, keep in mind that I don't know this from actual experience living in or spending time in Eastie. Based on what I know about the flight routes, the area I would caution you about would be toward the north side of Eastie. I forget the names of those neighborhoods, but I'm talking about up in the vicinity of Chelsea. I do know that sometimes when there's a stiff wind out of the east the planes come in over that part of Eastie, to land on the runway that runs across the north side of the field. It's not often that they use this approach, but it does happen. Again, I'm basing everything I'm telling you on knowledge of the takeoff and landing patterns, not on any experience living in Eastie, so I may not be the best source of information, but I hope this at least gives you something to start working with.

Airplane noise is nonexistent in Eastie. We lived right across from Piers Park, less than a mile to Logan but as you've heard the airplanes don't overfly eastie. There is Harbor noise tugboats, helicopters, in warmer weather party/tour boats playing music. None of that is really bad, and for city living it's not obnoxious or worse than anywhere else.
