Default Best Bar-Style Pizza in the Boston Area?

Any thoughts on the best place for bar pizza in the Boston area? I'm a big fan of the Lynwood in Randolph, but Monte's in Lynn is up there for me, too. Any favorites?

-Marc

I second your choice of the Lynwood pizza--it's great.
Fay's in South Dartmouth (used to be in Acushnet) has the tastiest thin crust pizza I've ever had.
Cape Cod Cafe in Brockton is also good.

I've heard a lot about the Cape Cod Cafe. It's definitely on my list of places to try...

Pizzeria Regina in the North End. There's a place in Eastie highly regarded too - called Sarcento's or something like that. Upper Crust is favored by some too.

I kinda like Crazy Doughs one Boylston. Very creative pizzas many by the slice. Liquor license too.

The best bar style pizza right in Boston is of course the Pizzeria Regina on Thatcher Street in the North End.

Yet, outside the City of Boston just over the bridge in the town of Chelsea is the "New Brown Jug" that's JUST incredible for bar style pizza:

Brown Jug: Image Gallery (Chelsea, MA)

It's got the really good pizza with the thin crust. It's a place with real local color! The outside of the place is kind of skuzzy and seedy looking if you know what I mean. Yet, once you get past the adrenalin with the heart racing "scary" feeling in your gut and you open their big steel door and walk inside? Then it's another story! It's a really homey type of place once you get inside, honestly it's not that bad. The Brown Jug's located at 24 Adams Street in Chelsea. What you do here is get a pitcher of Beer and a pizza for $14. You can't beat it with a stick. There's a lot of people in Chelsea and Revere that will have it delivered strictly from here and only here, that's how good it is. This is how I found out about it a long time ago thru some good friends that had it delivered for get togethers. Once you go here you won't want Bertucci's pizza at all! What every one does here is get their pizza where it's a personal sized one and then you get a pitcher of beer with it. There calzone is extremely good here too, so remember that!

Also, we really love Bianchi's Pizza along Revere Beach, but there it's strictly a counter for take out.

Here is an excellent write up about the Brown Jug from the "Hidden Boston" site that has a good picture of the outside of the place so you can see what I mean! It also describes it right to a "T" in this article:

New Brown Jug, Chelsea, MA | Boston's Hidden Restaurants

One last thing, Bostontonia08 it's called SANTARPIO'S in EB!

It's Santarpio's, just past the tunnel exit at Chelsea St and Porter St. I love that place.

The Paddock in Somerville is also pretty good, although people say it's not quite as good as it used to be. It's a fun kind of townie place.

Emma's in West Bridgewater or Norton is very good also. On par with Lynnwood, Town Spa, Cape Cod Cafe...

Oh and Alumni Cafe in Quincy is pretty good from what I remember although it has been a few years since I have been there.
