Default Info on Groton public schools - Roche Elementary, please

Hello...we are considering a move to Groton from another town in MA and are trying to get information about enrolling children who will be entering 4th grade and Kindergarten in September 2008. I've scoured the town and school district websites and sent a question via email but am hoping to get a resident's perspective as well.

Apparently, the kindergarten program runs in both half-days and full-days. I'd like to know the criteria for getting into each and then what kind of child care options there are for before- (if any) and after-school care.

My husband is interviewing for a position in Ayer, which would be a nice commute for him. I work in Billerica, however, which will NOT be a fun commute. But since we'd be living closer to Littleton, that will reduce the "stuck in traffic" time on 119.

I'd appreciate any info anyone could provide.

Thanks very much!

Default not sure if you still need this info

Just in case you're still looking for info or someone does a search... Florence Roche Elem (FloRo) does have the half and full day kindy, with full day being tuition-based. Groton-Dunstable (district) offers extended day care at the Twomey Youth Center for kindergarten and up. The center is in a small building adjacent to the elem and middle schools.

FYI, elementary in Groton-Dunstable goes through 4th grade, not 5th.
