Default Washington Mutual

Can someone confirm for me that there are WaMu locations in Boston? I searched on WaMu.com and couldn't find any, but on Google Maps I found multiple WaMu banks in Boston.

The WaMu rep said that if I didn't find any on their website, then there aren't any.

So, any locals know? Hoping that I don't have to switch banks when I move.

I don't believe there are any WAMUs in MA. However, there are in NY and CT. I'd look into changing your bank before your move.

I found out that when I moved here last year there are no banking locations only financial centers, for loans. I didn't change banks since I have everything direct deposited, if i receive any checks I mail them into the bank for deposit. I use there pay my bills for everything else, I only write one check a month. I have been doing this for a year now and haven't had any issues. Some people like to be able to go to the back so if that is the case you will need to change banking institutions.

Glad to have somebody who was in my position. WaMu offers me things that no other bank does, so I don't want to completely leave them, but I did open a checking account at Bank of America. Will just transfer money from my WaMu savings to Bank of America checking as I need it, and keep the rest in the WaMu checking.
