I ll fly to Boston this Aug. and stay here in the next 2 years for my advanced education. I used to live in Shanghai and got my BS degree there.

As a foreigner, i have no idea about this city which is entirely new to me.

Any suggestions on the best way for to get to know people and become part of the community? Or is there anyone live in Brookline? Any advice will be very welcome!

You might also look into activities that interest you at the shool you'll be attending. It's true that college interest groups will have a lot of undergrads, but if you're attending a school with many graduate students there may be some grads in the interest groups as well. You might also ask some of your fellow grad students about areas on or near campus where many graduate students stop for coffee or a bite to eat. Often, these places become social centers where you can meet people in a relaxed atmosphere.
