Default Need short term rental to work in Brockton

My job is moving me to Brockton Dec 1, 08. I need a short term rental (4 months) cat friendly, safe, under 1K. Is this doable? And, where would I look? Could I find something near the "T" south of Brockton? Is that a safe area, say around Middleboro or closer in? Thanks for any help. I'm open to any suggestions anyone may have.

I think your best bets are in Randolph, Braintree, Weymouth, and Quincy. Those towns and cities have the largest quantity of apartment complexes. Randolph lies minutes north of Brockton along Route 24 and the other municipalities are not much farther distant. There are a few apartment communities in Brockton as well, mainly on the west side.
In today's market a $1k rent shouldn't be too hard to find. What may be trickier is finding a place that allows pets, even a feline. More and more buildings are off-limits to companion animals; either that, or an additional deposit must be paid before moving in. Some leases also carry a monthly "pet fee," non-refundable whether or not the beast does any damage.
South of Brockton, in "the Bridgewaters" and beyond, the MBTA commuter rail is the only mass transit whatsoever. And "T" transportation isn't that great north and northeast of there, either. But you don't have to watch your paychecks flow into the gas tank of your vehicle too fast. Necessity shopping is easy in all the places mentioned, with fun shopping galore to be had at Braintree's South Shore Plaza.
