Default What kind of place is Norwood ?

Hello to all, can somebody tell me what kind of place Norwood is ?

Seems like a quite little place but can somebody tell me if there is some kind of public transport in Norwood ? Also I was checking Google for the locatio of ATMs and to my surprise the nearest ATM was in Dedham !!! Is that so ? Doesnt Norwood Co-operative Bank has an ATM ?? If it does can somebody be kind enough to tell me if I can withdraw money from it using a VISA debit card ?? Also are there any internet cafe's near the Norwood Square ?

Thanks in advance to all those who answer my query

Norwood is a small suburban town with a nice town center. The center is quite developed for how big Norwood is; it has a number of good restaurants and a few shops. There is a local coffe shop in the town center that might have wifi access, but I'm not sure (it is called Perks, if you're really interested you can give them a call). There is a big hospital not too far from the Norwood Central station, slightly south of the main town center.

There are some employers in town--Analog Devices springs to mind--but there are also a lot of commuters that take the Franklin line in to Boston every morning. Norwood has three stops, Norwood Depot, Norwood Central, and Windsor Gardens that go directly to South Station via Back Bay. There is also a bus line--the 34E--that runs to the Orange Line terminus at Forest Hills. Getting around Norwood otherwise will most likely require a car or a desire to walk. Norwood has very good sidewalks so walking is definitely a possibility.

Norwood isn't the most well-to-do town in the area and does not have the best schools, either, but its a solidly middle-class town and is no way run down or dangerous. There are a large number of apartment complexes, especially around the train stations, but there are also many single family home neighborhoods. Prices are lower then many of the surrounding towns, but certainly not cheap.

That's a brief description of Norwood, if you have any specific questions please let me know.

Could you give me an idea about daycare cost in Norwood? Also the renting price of 1br/2br apartment. How you can compare Canton and Norwood? Thanks!

I lived in Windsor Gardens in Norwood ages ago. I found the town to be dull as hell, but then again, I was 19/20 and still in my club hopping stage. I could probably deal w/ it now. the town center is cute (loved that little ice cream place, can't remember the name though) but small. not sure what they have now, I haven't been around there in years. Windsor Gardens was convenient since the commuter rail stop was right in the complex, however the train didn't run often. it probably would have been better for me to live closer to the square and have the option or either the commuter rail or the bus into Boston

as for cash, best way to get around foreign ATM fees is to ask for cash back where ever you can get it
