I was wondering what people thought of the neighborhood just north of Tufts, around Barry Playground. Is it relatively safe and family-friendly? A bit boisterous with the university close by? I understand it's far from the Davis stop but this isn't a huge concern. Does anyone know the going rent for a 2br apartment with off-street parking? Thanks in advance.

I have never heard of anything bad about the neighborhood around Tufts. I actually find that whole setting to be quite pleasant and calm. The other side of Somerville closer to the expressway and Sullivan Square looks crummier and more run down.

As you head away from Tufts southeast on Broadway, when does it start becoming a not-so-desirable area? Central? Temple? 28? Thanks!

I was referring to East Somerville near McGrath Highway and Foss Park. Its not so much a really dangerous place than an uglier, dirtier part of Somerville. I am not sure about the neighborhoods in between such as Spring Hill.
