He is still with us.

Howdy there, folks, we're glad to meet you in
Boom- Boom- Boomtown!

There's a bunch of folks who'd like to greet you in
Boom- Boom- Boomtown!

You can bet we'll have lots of Western fun
And excitement for you

We'll ride and rope, do a square dance and shoot a gun
And we'll sing a song or two

Come along, folks, now we're gonna start the fun in
Boom- Boom- Boomtown!

From six to sixty there's something for everyone in
Boom- Boom- Boomtown!

So do-si-do and swing around,
Get your gal and promenade down to
Boom- Boom- Boomtown!

Great Post, some friends where I worked many long years ago, went on the trip with him to DisneyWorld CA, and had a real great time!

Hoofbeats, hoofbeats, hoofbeats
Thunder 'cross a prairie wide.
Hoofbeats, hoofbeats, hoofbeats,
Ride, cowboy, ride!

Nah, never heard of him.

Dating myself here, but yeah, Boomtown was part of Saturday morning.

It was late spring in 1959 - a Saturday morning - Mama surprised my younger brother at age 5 with news he was going to visit Boomtown and be on TV with Rex Trailer and the gang! I, his older sister at age 13, would be there to guard his behavior..know what I mean? We got into the 1949 ‘woody’ station wagon and bounced over the roads to Brighton to the studios on Soldiers Field Road. Having reached my first teen year, this event would either give me bragging rights to my friends or the most unforgettable and embarrassing if little brother's antics toward me (he didn't want me there) got out of control...anyway....like the late Big Brother Bob Emery, Rex is a GIANT icon of quality, values, how to live, and all who have been associated with him will always be remembered with love!!! Blessings of strength by Faith to keep you and yours' in God's loving guard. Sincerely, Lin Jodrey Gurney, Waltham and 'lil brother Charlie who towers over me now!

My brother and sister got to go to a taping. I was too young...but they brought home Screaming Yellow Zonkers for my younger brother and I. Sort of made up for it... LOVED that show- and Bozo the Clown of course!

Cool story, Lin J G. You had me worried there when I saw that this thread had been revived. I thought maybe Rex had ridden on the that Great Prairie in the Sky, and people had returned to this thread to pay their respects. I've known a few people who have met Rex. From everything I've heard, he's a true gentleman, and over the years has been a great influence on kids in this area.
