Default Boston traffic; suitable for mopeds?

Are mopeds generally seen among Boston traffic? It seems a real convenient way to get around in the city during summertime. Or will I get overrun by SUV's all the time?

I actually think its a better way to get around than by car in Boston, the city is really built for walking and smaller types of vehicles. Alot of people I know have Vespa's and ride them around all the time.

I agree. If I had a place to store a moped or scooter, I'd own one. Instead I'm on a bike almost daily and have yet to get hit by an SUV.

I rarely see them on the streets. But there are death-wish cyclists aplenty, so why not mopeds, too?

My brother is in a scooter club in Boston as a matter of fact.

Golly gee. Mopeds sound like the next generation of motor vehicles. Genuine 21st century technology. Sadly, there still are crazy drivers with ginormous vehicles in metro Boston that care little to run off smaller vehicles from the road.

between potholes, narrow streets and crazy drivers, mopeds are something of a death wish in Boston. But hey, why not? You only live once. I don't remember them being all that common. In the western cities I've been too I see them more, as stuff is more spread out (ie, Portland, Albuquerque), you can usually see where you are going better. Much better weather in these places too.
