Default Moving to Boston, working near South Station. Where should i rent?

Hi

i am moving to Boston to start working and was wondering where a good place to rent was. I will be working near South Station so looking for a place that will be easy for me to commute (on the T or a walk)

Wanted somewhere lively with a good social vibe as i am 26 and single! and preferable somewhere that won't break the bank!
Was looking at Kendall?? is that about right or am i completley off?

thanks
R

South Boston. Rents are very reasonable. Post college - downtown professional type demographics. A beach. You'd be 1 stop away on the Red Line, 10-15 minute bus ride on the 7, or a relatively easy walk to work.

Cool QuinZ

Could also look into QUIN-Z (Quincy)

Maybe Wollaston Beach area? could hop the Red line up to South Station

Could also try the South Shore or any of the towns in the suburbs that connect with South Station via Commuter rail like Mansfield, Franklin, Hingham, etc. there's also a commuter boat at Hingham that goes to Rowes Wharf, which is walking distance to South Station area, even Plymouth could work using commuter rail :-) Free wifi on all trains -

Cambridge could be an option too. Central SQ/Davis SQ/Porter SQ, Kendall Sq, all on the Red line so you could take it to South Station
