Burlington is a suburb, very safe. There's the Burlington Mall and a lot of other shopping centers where there's a lot of traffic, but other areas of the town are quiet. You should be able to find an apartment there without too much trouble.

Town of Burlington, Massachusetts

Cool Burlington

You could also look in arlington Heights, Lexington, Burlington, Bedford, Billerica, Woburn , Winchester or even Carlisile or Concord as areas within a 10-20 min drive of Burlington. Burlington is a decent suburban community- lots of services right in town ---the mall as well. Good school system.

The only bad thing about the NW Side of Boston Lexington-Burlington Corridor is lack of transit into Boston> There are a few bus routes. But they can take a while on the bus to Alewife-

The main option for getting into Boston from this side of town would be to drive 128 south to Riverside when there wasnt heavy traffic and take the GREEN Line in or ---drive up 128 North to Washington St. Exit in Woburn and then up Commerce way to the Anderson Regional Transit Center and get the Commuter rail into North Station and/or take route 2 E to Alewife. - and get the RED LINE or get off in Arlington Park for free on the side-roads near Clarendon Hill Towers in Somerville and get the bus to Davis Square. -

there's also busses from Arlington Heights (can park on side roads near Mass Ave.) and wait for the bus to Alewife.

either way it would be acessible off route 2 from 128/Burlington Area.

Getting into Boston is doable but its not as good as the Fellsway Corridor area. or the Wakefield Area.

Definitely try the Fish House Grille in Burlington and School house Ice cream awesome!
