Default utilities costs in Boston

Hi,

I moved to Boston about a month and half ago and I was pretty shocked when I saw my first electric bill. For one month it was about $100. I'm wondering if this is about average this time of year or if it does sound high. Now, there are 3 people here, but its not that big a place--we don't have a lot of lights on or many things plugged in. I've talked to some other people in 3-person arrangements and they all say their bills this time of year are around $50. This isn't a big deal now, I'm just worried that when winter rolls around and things like space heaters come into play, we might be looking at some ridiculous $200 electric bill in addition to oil and gas bills. Also, if this does seem high to you, is there any way to diagnose the culprit? Does the electric company provide any kind of free electrical survey or anything like that?

Thanks
